Centered City Yoga, established in 2002 by D'ana Baptiste, is the fruition of a dream D'ana had to create a place where people could practice yoga together in a friendly, clean, fun and welcoming atmosphere. The studio is often likened to that famous tv "hangout" where everybody's know your name, sans Norm (and the beer, of course.) It's a place where friends meet, where everyone feels included, and where families do yoga together. As soon as you enter the doors of CCY, you will feel like you have found a sane and safe corner of the world.

Centered City Yoga is well known for it's incredibly talented, professional, and devoted (both to yoga and to the clientelle) teachers, none of whom take themselves too seriously. They all genuinely love teaching yoga, but don't take their identity from teaching. Centered City Yoga instructors are first and foremost "regular people.." dads and moms, musicians and mechanics, doctors and dancers, artists and attorneys. They teach yoga not to define their lives, but because they have seen the good in can do in their busy and full lives, and hope to share those benefits with you.

D'ana Baptiste and InBody Academy begins a new Hybrid session beginning May 2nd!

The next 1000 hour session begins on May 2, 2012 at our annual InBody Retreat. This 6 month program is taught primarily by D'ana, whose 24 years of experience, love of teaching and passion for yoga will be passed on to you. Faculty includes John Cottrell, PhD, Erin Meyer, PhD, Kim Lynn, Lucinda Kinkead, Kate Crews, and Abbey Daw.

This training is brilliant and gains popularity each time we offer it. If you have been thinking about teaching yoga or just want to enhance your own practice and knowledge, this training will educate and inspire you. Don't wait. Class size is limited.

There are two ways to join this group:

  • The ROOT Level is designed for students with a minimum amount of classroom experience and a sincere desire to delve more deeply into how to teach an asana class. Cost is $2,000.
  • The HYBRID Level will be a much more in-depth study and engagement in the practices and vast tradition of yoga, as well as the cutting edge new advancements in the science of mind/body. Cost is $3900.

Both programs meet new National Yoga Alliance Standards, and will also have a more formal graduation process that will include mentoring and a personal interview. All these programs have been designed to provide students with a much more in-depth, intensive initiation into the formal practices, and a much deeper understanding of the role of the teacher in the Yogic Tradition.
